Our Self Assembly Kits for Brian James CarGo Connect and T Transporter
Since working with Graham Hathaway Racing, Weatherweave has successfully developed a ‘Self Assembly’ kit. Currently the kit is limited to Brian James Trailers’ CarGo Connect range and the T4 & T6 Transporter, but our innovative team is continually working to increase the range available.
Coupled with the best trailers on the market, we believe this product is the answer to all of your transportation needs.
The kit packs down in to 3 boxes, each approximately 2.4m in length x 0.22m width x 0.22m depth and weigh 60kg each. It comes complete with instructions and all of the required nuts and bolts for assembly.
Please see our trailer self assembly model index which lists the kits we currently manufacture.

Buckle Up & Explore the Features
‘Innovative, Simple and Robust’
The Frame
The framework is designed to be completely demountable, so you can easily switch back to an open trailer for those unusual jobs.
A simple plug together and bolt up assembly system, manufactured from a box steel slot together construction and powder coated in matt black for an extremely clean and professional finish that lasts.
We recognise that our customers have a broad range of uses for their trailers and so we will build the frame to suit your requirements. Frame heights are an extremely important aspect and typically heights range from 1.4 metres up to 3 metres.
Recognised for our quality of workmanship, our attention to detail is second to none, allowing us to be recommended by many leading trailer manufacturers. Whether the design is an ‘Angled Front’ to help reduce wind resistance, or a front/rear extension beyond the bed of the trailer to enclose the overhang of a vehicle, our techs can create the required solution for you.
The Weatherproof PVC Cover
To protect your cargo from harsh weather conditions, we only use the highest grade 680gsm PVC available to us on the market. With welded seams and a perfect fit, the easy wipe clean material stays reliable year in and year out.
All the PVC used to make each cover is both Fire and UV Rated. To allow an extra long lease of life, an antifungal coating is also applied to help against unwanted grime. The cover is designed and made to be one whole piece, put on and removed by two people and rolled up when not in use. When rolled, it is easy to store and does not take up a great deal of room.
We have a vast range of colours available, or you may want a fully printed cover to give it total customisation.
Loading Door
The tail of the trailer is weighted with a steel bar to help against movement when you are on the road. This can be rolled up with ease to allow ease of access.
Removable Side Bars
These can be removed at any time to make your life easier when climbing on to the side of the trailer or opening a car door for access.
Transparent Roof
Our most popular feature. The roof allows an extra 40% of light through, making it much easier to see what you are doing, even in low light.
Over Centre Buckles
A design element introduced in 2018, these zinc plated buckles will make sure your cover is drum tight and secure on the road or when it is stationary.
Winch Hatch
Simply clip the panel up to pass your winch cable through. Gives you great visibility when operating.
Roll Up Side Panels
Gain full access to the side of your trailer. Smaller side panels can also be installed for wheel bracing purposes.
Zips
High grade zips can be installed in various locations to make access and daily use, as easy as possible.
Side Release Buckles
Keep you panels secure in place when accessing the inside.

How High?
Heights of 1.4m (4ft) and 1.6m (5ft) may be an option depending on vehicle
clearance.
1.8m (6ft) accommodates your average height car and is a convenient height to be able to walk inside when vehicle isn’t inside or for an alternative use.
2.0m (6ft 6inch) Recommended for larger vehicles, such as a 4×4.
2.25m (7ft 4inch) To transport larger vehicles (4×4 type), vehicles with roof racks
and small vans. (We recommend this height if you are transporting a variety of size vehicles. Having an angled front will reduce the leading height by 2ft if you are unsure about going higher).
Please also consider where your trailer will be parked and if there is a height limit to your garage/barn building, if applicable.
Tyre Rack/Shelving, will I need to remove it?
If you have a fitted tyre rack, for example, we are happy to adapt this to suit the frame fitting. There are a few options available to you, and along with our metalwork tech we can find a solution for you.
We endeavour to save you from additional expense where we can, but if on the rare occasion we aren’t able to upcycle your tyre rack or shelving, we can manufacture a new one for you, in house at a very reasonable rate.
Longevity and Maintenance?
We expect you to get years of use from your conversion.
Wear and tear can occur, so we sell the accessories to replace any broken/lost or worn parts. If you refer to our product catalogue you can look up what you need and give us a call to order it over the phone.
Popular zip issues are resolved by keeping them clean and protecting them from road dirt and wet with WD40 or a good quality water repellent. The cover can be cleaned with a good mild degreasing soap and hosing down (DO NOT USE BLEACH OR BLEACH BASED PRODUCTS).
For more complicated repairs, such as a zip replacement, please don’t hesitate to call us to enquire about booking this in. We also offer a cleaning service, if required.
If you have built your own Frame
Don’t hesitate to call us if you are enquiring about a cover for a frame that you have built, we are happy to discuss your options. That said, on some occasions we are reluctant to make these as we feel it compromises the overall quality finish of the covers which are tailored to suit our frames.
